# Update the app

A new version of the app can be put on the machine in two ways. We recommend using the **update on the machine**.

## On the machine

A machine connected to the internet can ask for a newer version in the [service menu](/en/guides/navody/everyday-operation/servisni-menu.md).

1. Open the service menu. When a version is ready, an update offer appears (version and size).
2. Go to Service menu → Device settings → **App update (Spiroq OS)** → Download the new version and confirm **Update**.
3. After the download, confirm the Android installation. The first time, Android may ask to allow installation for this app — allow it and return to the app; the dialog is shown again.

## From the Hub

**Settings → Android App** has the list of versions and the APK download for a flash drive. Follow the same steps as for [installation](/en/guides/navody/getting-started-and-installation/instalace.md). You install the file from the flash drive through ES File Explorer over the existing app (reinstall; the data stays).

After installation the machine restarts, and the new version number is in **Device information** and in the machine header in the Hub.
