# Slot layout

The **Slot layout** tab is the machine layout. Slots are normally loaded from the machine's main board, not by creating them by hand in the HUB.

A slot card shows the slot number, the product image and name, the unit count against capacity, and the fill color. A lock means a blocked slot. An exclamation mark means a planned product swap the machine has not confirmed yet. Merged slots share a label.

## First sync

If you do not see the grid in the HUB, it has to be synced from the machine.

1. Open the service menu → **Slot management**.
2. Tap **Load from the board**. On a micromarket it is **Read slots / channels from the board**.
3. Once the board lists the slots, tap **Transfer to the HUB**.

The synced grid should appear in the HUB shortly. Further product and capacity changes then go from the HUB to the machine. When the grid on the board changes, the same procedure transfers it to the HUB again.

Sync is also possible from the HUB. In the **Actions** menu → **Synchronize slots** you can choose **Use Android → overwrite HUB**. That aligns the Hub and the machine when the grid already exists in both. **This does not replace the first load from the board.**

## Slot detail

Tapping a card opens the detail.

Here you find the slot code, the row and position, the unit count, the **Assigned product** (name, SKU, EAN), and the list of units in the slot. The highest position number is the unit that is dispensed first. When the assigned product is waiting for a swap, **Newly assigned product** is shown here. The **Stock**, **Analytics**, and **Errors** tabs apply to this slot only.

Actions in the detail:

* **Stock** and **Clear** — the unit count on the machine. The procedure is in [Stocking and clearing](/en/guides/navody/everyday-operation/naskladneni.md).
* **Edit slot** — slot fields, see below.
* **Actions** — **Vend** one unit, **Rotate** the motor, **Block slot**, or **Unblock slot**. For a pair of merged slots there is **Unmerge**.

## Editing one slot

**Edit slot** opens the **Slot** dialog.

| Field | Required | Meaning |
| ---------------------- | -------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Code | yes | Slot label from the board, for example `11`. Do not change it after the first sync. |
| Capacity | no | How many units fit in the slot. When a product is assigned, it is filled from the product setting [**Max units per slot**](/en/hub-screens/hub/produkty/detail-produktu.md) if the capacity is empty or matches Max units per slot of the previous product. |
| Assigned product | no | The product the slot sells. Empty = a slot without a product. |
| Newly assigned product | — | Shown only when the swap is waiting to be cleared on the machine. **Cancel** deletes the plan. |
| Row | yes | Row in the grid. It comes from the board. |
| Position | yes | Order of the slot in the row. It comes from the board. |
| Slot type | — | Spiral, belt, or push. In the HUB it is only displayed; it is changed on the machine. |
| Optics enabled | no | Whether this slot should report a successful vend from the drop sensor. Turn it off for small products the sensor does not register. The default is **on**. |
| Block policy | yes | Whether the slot should block itself after a vend failure. The default is **do not block**. |
| Block after attempts | no | After how many failures the slot blocks, when the policy requires it. |
| Failure count | — | How many times the vend failed. Display only. |
| Enabled | no | A turned-on slot is sold. A turned-off slot is blocked. |

When the slot still has stocked units and you change the product, the Hub asks for **Clear now** or **Clear on refill**. The procedure is in [Assigning a product to a slot](/en/guides/navody/everyday-operation/produkt-do-slotu.md).

## Bulk edit slots

**Bulk edit slots** is available from the **Pro** plan.

Select several slots at once. An empty field is not changed. You can change:

* **Assigned product**
* **Capacity**
* **Slot state** — **Active** or **Disabled (blocked)**
* **Optics** — on or off

**Select all** takes every slot. **Select same product** takes slots with the same product as one already selected.

**Stock to capacity** and **Clear all stock** work only on an online machine. Stocking fills the free space up to capacity. Clearing empties the slot. The source of the unit count is the machine.

From the **Actions** menu, the layout can be saved as a template (**Save layout to template**, **Pro** plan). In this bulk edit you insert it onto the selected slots with **From a template**. The template list is in the [**Templates**](/en/hub-screens/hub/sablony.md) menu.
